Chusak’s story will break your hearts. He was found staggering along the road totally blind and then collapsed in a heap. How could anyone abandon an old dog in this condition? 

We wrapped him in a rug and took him to the vet for a blood check. Chusak hardly had any red blood cells left and he probably hadn’t eaten for days. He was exhausted and weak so we treated him very gently.

Chusak is having blood tonic and vitamin supplements and we’re keeping his food portions small. He had a yellow discharge from his nose. The vet told us to give him puppy antibiotics as his little body wasn’t able to cope with strong medicines.

We wiped his skin with a mild solution of betadine and sterile water and some turmeric. His little body was very hot from internal and external infection. Chusak is completely blind with cataracts.

Chusak's ongoing recovery has been nothing short of a miracle. His skin is recovering well but he still remains blind, however, Chusak knows his area and cleverly avoids any obstacles when sniffing around.
